Gallstones

Gallstones are little stones that can develop within the gallbladder. In many patients they cause few problems. However, they have the potential to cause significant pain, infection or blockages with the liver.

When gallstones start to become symptomatic, it is recommended that you have an operation to remove your gallbladder. 

​

Although all surgery has some risks, a gallbladder operation, or laparoscopic cholecystectomy, is generally a safe procedure, performed as a daycase through keyhole surgery.
