Laparoscopic Hernia Repair
There are many different types of abdominal wall hernia. The majority of groin hernias can be fixed with keyhole surgery. This is especially advantageous for recurrent hernia or when operating on two hernias at the same time. Keyhole surgery can be used for the following:
Inguinal hernia
Femoral hernia
Obturator hernia
Spigellian hernia
Bilateral inguinal hernia
Recurrent inguinal hernia

For other hernia of the abdominal wall, keyhole surgery may be possible, but open surgery through a small incision may be more appropriate. The following hernia may be operated on via an open approach:
Umbilical/paraumbilical hernia
Ventral hernia
Epigastric hernia
Incisional hernia

The best way of deciding on the correct approach to fixing your hernia is to book an appointment with Mr. Lewis to discuss your options.
